Rede2 believe CSR is a company’s commitment to operate in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner.

Rede2 believe we have built a reputable fair business from our client’s perspective as well as our suppliers.  We pay on time and charge honestly.  We believe we deliver an exceptional service and have built a reputation on getting the job done; we have an ‘already done’ attitude.

Carbon Footprint

A Carbon Footprintis a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide.

At rede2 we understand that our business activities have an impact on the environment.  Some of these activities produce an amount of greenhouse gases resulting in pollution.  We want to offset these emissions and give something back to help the environment.

We will highlight and offer our clients the choice to offset their flight carbon emissions by giving back the calculated carbon dioxide produced in terms of travel, during each event.  Many of our clients will have their own Carbon offsetting policy but if they would like us to calculate this we will adjust their budget accordingly.  Carbon Offsetting is a way of compensating for the emissions produced with an equivalent carbon dioxide saving. 

The money from this offsetting will then go towards Reforestation in the Great Rift Valley, Kenya or Clean Energy Fund.  The website can be found at http://www.carbonfootprint.com/flight_offset.php 

Reducing Carbon Emissions

Rede2 try and reduce their co2 emissions by:

Turning it off when not in use (lights, television etc...)
Turning down the central heating slightly
Turning down the water heating setting
Check the central heating timer setting - as there is no point heating the building after we have left for the evening.
Fill the dish washer with a full load - this saves us water, electricity, and washing powder
Fill the kettle with only as much water as we need
We use local suppliers therefore reducing vehicle emissions – from deliveries

Charity

The James Hopkins Trust is a charity which provides practical help for severely disabled, life threatened and life limited young children with nursing needs, aged 5 years and under, living in Gloucestershire.

red e2 have chosen to adopt this charity as part of its CSR policy.  We will be getting involved in events throughout the year to raise money for this cause. 

As part of our support for The James Hopkins Trust we will invite you to make a donation of £1 per delegate - red e2 will match the donation with a further £1 per delegate.

This donation will go directly to The James Hopkins Trust

We are operating an ‘opt –out’ policy with regards to this initiative and have included a £1 per donation in the programme budget.  If however you wish to opt out, then please let us know and we will deduct this from the budget.

Recycling

Businesses and industries create large amounts of waste in their daily activities. Reducing the amount of rubbish created at work through methods such as recycling will benefit the business as well as the environment. Waste disposal costs are greatly reduced through recycling and ultimately, less waste ends up in landfills.

We have placed recycling into our way of working -

Reduce – we reduce the amount of waste we have, i.e. we only print out emails if we really have to.  A lot of our own marketing is email and web based therefore reducing the amount of paper used.  We generally have an electronic based office.

Reuse – we reuse our plastic cups used for drinking and use recycled toilet paper.  We try and use where we can printers who use recycled paper.  We reuse paper and use as scrap/note paper.

Recycle – all our paper waste goes into the Big Bin to be recycled.  We have a recycle bin for materials such as glass, paper, aluminium and plastic.

Rede2 understand the importance of recycling and are always trying to think of better ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.
